Toyota Auris HSD

The Auris HSD inaugurates the introduction of Hybrid Synergy Drive® technology on a popular model in the Toyota range. The new 5-door sedan is the only fully hybrid powertrain in the highly competitive compact sedan segment. Reflecting Toyota's lead in sustainable mobility, the Hybrid Synergy Drive® system will be the foundation for all its future models. The launch of the Auris HSD represents the first step in the deployment of this technology throughout the manufacturer's European range. Worldwide, Toyota will launch around ten new hybrid models at the beginning of this decade and, from the 2020s, plans to offer an HSD hybrid powertrain on all its models. This system, specially designed for "the test of the future", can be adapted with the same ease to all-electric or hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. The launch of the Auris HSD completes a redesigned 2010 Auris range, which offers significant improvements in terms of style and interior quality. This family also benefits from a more refined driving experience and a wider choice of fuel-efficient Toyota Optimal Drive engines. In return, the car has an exemplary fuel consumption of 3.8 l/100 km in the European combined cycle and a remarkably low CO2 level of just 89 g/km.
